Monitoring and Response Centre

These centres play a vital role in successful telecare implementation, as an assessor it is very important that you maintain a good relationship with your local monitoring and response centre. This will enable you to ensure that the protocols devised for your clients are appropriate for their individual needs and situations.

A good relationship with your monitoring and response centre will ensure that you are kept informed of: -

  • Any changes in your client’s situation that require your input
  • Any problems being experienced with their range of sensors
  • The effectiveness and appropriateness of their response protocols

Assessment

Assessment for provision of telecare should be via a Specialist Assessment undertaken as a result of the Single Assessment Process in England, Unified Assessment Process in Wales, or Single Source Assessment in Scotland.

In order to maximise the effectiveness of the assessment the following are required:-

  • Access to the information gathered under the SAP, UAP or SSA
  • Specialised knowledge of telecare
  • Achievable timescales
  • Clear, concise paperwork and protocols
  • Clear criteria for provision
